Violin pedagogy for all
Here at International Minifiddlers we offer a distance education solution in violin studies developed by Caprice Oy, Finland. Violin pedagogy is our passion. That's why we provide training for violin pedagogues in the best elementary violin teaching method in the world: the Colourstrings Method. The program was started by Finnish violinist Maarit Rajamäki in the autumn 2012. Her mission has been to offer Finnish top-knowledge in classical music education to everybody - regardless of geographical location.
Caprice Oy has developed musical distance teaching in cooperation with distinguished violinist Pinchas Zukerman since 1997 and is a pioneer in the field in Finland. Our company provides expertise and services in distance teaching and consultation on the technical execution of distance classes. Through Minifiddlers video lessons you can study the Colourstrings Method systematically. In addition to video lessons, we offer a unique chance to get personal instruction from the Colourstrings Specialists through real-time distance lessons. Esa-Pekka Salonen - our patron
Esa-Pekka Salonen, one of the most successful and internationally renowned Finnish composers and conductors, has been a patron of International Minifiddlers since 2012. Understanding the importance of teaching art subjects, especially music, to children, Mr. Salonen thinks that musical education should become a normal part of a child's life, just like a daily meal. After all, learning to play music both develops child's brain and brings joy to their life.
Esa-Pekka Salonen is a strong proponent of the Colourstrings Method and sees that International Minifiddlers plays an important role in teaching it to the wider society. To hear more about his views on International Minifiddlers' work, violin pedagogy and the role of music in children's live in general, watch the discussion between Esa-Pekka Salonen and Géza Szilvay.
